I will be answering your second question. The reason that Pope Francis is focusing on the bad things in the world is because he wants us to try to improve society today. For instance, on paragraph 12, Pope Francis says, "We must resolve to live as nobly and as justly as possible, as we educate generations not to turn their back on our 'neighbors' and everything around us." One of the reasons Pope Francis is saying this is because nowadays it is so easy to disrespect others on social media and everywhere which is why it is important for parents and people to train their kids to be kind to others.

For number 1) These things happen in this world because us humans are not perfect and we don't double-check what we do that could affect the world. For number 2) Pope Francis is probably focusing on the horrible situations in the world because he wants to tell us a message that we should try to change all the bad things to good things. Hope this answers your two first questions!

Pope Francis is focusing on the bad things in the world because he wants us to focus on those bad things and make them good things. He wants us "building a future of freedom that requires love of the common good and cooperation in a spirit of subsidiarity and solidarity." He also says in paragraph sixteen, page four, "I know that you share my conviction that much more still needs to be done, and in times of crisis and economic hardship a spirit of global solidarity must not be lost."

1. There can be many reasons why these things happen in the world. Sometimes its just the people in the worlds fault.. other times its the leaders who make bad decisions.

Isabella, for your second question I would like to respond that the answer to that question is working together. On paragraph 18 Pope Francis appoints," Now is the time for courageous actions and strategies, aimed at implementing a "culture of care" and "an integrated approach to combating poverty." We must have courage and make strategies in order to become a great society.

I will be answering your first question. We can avoid repeating the sins of the past by using many of the heroes in the past as role models. For example on paragraph 11, Pope Francis states, " Here too I think of the march which Marting Luther King led from Selma to Montgomery fifty years ago as part of the campaign to fulfill his 'dream' of civil and political rights for African Americans." In this quote, Pope Francis is saying that instead of doing the wrong thing and following what others do, do the right thing and stand up for what you believe in.

Aidan, I would like to answer your first question by saying that it is very complicated. We can show the golden rule to others by treating them nicely and with respect. There are many answers to this question. On paragraph eight, Pope Francis argues, "Our response must instead be one of hope and healing, peace and justice." This explains that we may spread the golden rule by hope and healing, peace and justice.

We can make a difference by being good. Picking up trash and this like that. You need to have a good attitude to others. That is how you can make it a better place. Everyone sins, it depends on if they can control their sin or not. Some people can not control themselves. Small sins can lead to big ones.

I am going to answer your first question. The way we can make the world a better place is by fighting in wars, helping the poor, pick up trash, and etcetera. On paragraph 5 it says,"Men and women, for all their many differences lives - to build a better future." Thats the example that we should help our world a better place.

I think some of us aren't willing to change our planet positively because some people might not take notice to these environmental problems that are occurring and they might think that it's not their problem. I also think that some people might be indolent or expect other people to pick up trash or plant trees instead of them taking action.

I also think that some people might be indolent or expect other people to pick up trash or plant trees instead of them taking action. In Pope Francis' historic address to Congress, in paragraph eight, page 1, he says, "Each son or daughter of a given country has a mission, a personal and social responsibility." I think this is referring to the environment because it is our responsibility to the keep the earth healthy and clean. Also, in paragraph eighteen, page four, the Pope writes, "In Laudatory Si', I call for a courageous and responsible effort to "redirect our steps,"and to avert the most serious effects of the environmental deterioration caused by human activity."

I am going to answer your first question. What "Each son and daughter of a given country have a mission" means is that every human has plan and vocation. What I mean by "Plan" is that God has a path for us to take. On paragraph 2 or 3 it says,"Our work which makes me reflect in two ways on the figure of Moses", and on paragraph 2 or 3 it says,"On other, figure of Moses leads us directly to God." Thats what we have to reflect on and what our mission is.

Negative things occur constantly in the world for several reasons. The answer to this can go back all the way to when the Original Sin was committed. This means that nobody is perfect. Many people have different and false beliefs that involve worshipping fake gods. Some of the world population take their religion to extreme levels, so much that they can b involved in negative occurrences. Or, people just acts sinful sometimes and commit negative things. This is why us Catholics always attempt to strive to do our best; to help us be closer to God and to help the world learn to create eternal peace.

I do agree with you, Isaac. Us humans are not perfect. To be honest, nobody on Earth is perfect. The on truly person who is perfect is God. Also, various amount of people do take their religion to extreme levels, which brings into a negative event. On September 11, 2001, two airplanes such as the Boeing 767-223ER (American Airlines, Flight 11), and Boeing 767-200 (United Airlines, Flight 175) crashed into the towers. These two wide body airplanes caused the collapse of the World Trade Centers (North and South Tower). The Al Qaeda terrorist group was involved, which did take their religion to extreme measures. We can help the world from immigration by inviting them in to our country and providing them with some of the things they need instead of just immeaditly not caring. We should do what jesus would do.

Pope Francis acknowledged our nation as, "The land of the free and the home of the brave" for several reason. First of all, it alludes to the U.S. National Anthem when it says that at its conclusion. This is a claim for our nation, and it is generally true. Secondly, "the land of the free" is utilized by Pope Francis to name our country because if you look back in the U.S. history, you will find the U.S. Civil War. The Civil War was when our nation disputed about slavery in the country, and so they had a war (southern states, which were against slavery versus the northern states, which were favored by slavery) to determine the future of the liberation of the population. The southern states won the war. If this never occurred, slavery would probably still exist today in the United States of America. And if you are not a slave, then you are free. This is why Pope Francis uses this depiction. Thirdly, Pope Francis uses "the home of the brave" to depict our courage and bravery as one population. Our nation has been through a lot for a couple of centuries. Our country succeeds in almost everything, and we are brave enough to protest for what is right. This is why Pope Francis depicts the population of the United States of America like this.
